Appleby just bobbed up out of nowhere and I'm stoked that his newest track crossed my path. "Rounded Edge" is a bit shorter than we're used to hearing, but it packs more soul in its minute and half than you could ever ask for. Rumor has it that this track is just acting as an introduction to the artist, who happens to be on the verge of releasing several full length projects in the future.
The 23 year old artist incorporates several important elements in this song to bring the listener closer to his music. Lyrically, he keeps things simply poetic, but you can hear the yearning in the wisp of his voice that instantly makes you feel for him. Like several of his other tracks, he seems to unleash his inner woes into his music, but rather than being angst filled, it comes across beautifully. The productions, from OZZIE, are crisp and gently push the vocals to the foreground leaving us with a well 'rounded' track.
