EARMILK can always be relied on for news about the exciting world of Well$, so it’s only right that we bring you a fresh joint from his crew, THE BL∆CK HE∆RTS CLUB. Short but very sweet, “Girl Tell Me Something” has seen the club which began forming in New Orleans back in 2003 put together an astonishingly upbeat arrangement which kicks off with a quirky verse from Charlotte rapper Well$.
The third member of THE BL∆CK HE∆RTS CLUB, Well$ owes his association with the collective to his cousin Lomani; a Congolese rapper who introduces a welcomed experimental edge to “Girl Tell Me Something” with an effortlessly cool French verse. The other BHC original featured on this one is Lucho, and he contributes with some wonderfully harmonized singing. To begin with, no name or label was attributed to their collaborative efforts which meant Lomani and Lucho developed what they call “postal service production”, as they'd send music back and forth throughout the editing process.
“Girl Tell Me Something” is the first single from BHC’s forthcoming Insomniac EP, so check the funky tune out below while you wait.
