Marika Hackman has not only recently announced her debut album We Slept At Last (out February 16 2015 via Dirty Hit Records), she's also just dropped the first single from that very offering. "Drown" is our first taste at what is We Slept At Last, and it's shaped up to be exactly what we were hoping for.
"Drown", set to be officially released on December 8, diffuses classic folk music with contemporary delicate melodies. The unique ambience spirals around bits of distortion here, and light organ-type sounds there, lending itself to Marika's uncanny ability to transcend folk music as we know it.
