David Guetta doesn't really need much introduction: pioneering the DJ-as-celebrity era, he's moved along to become a popular dance music superstar. Today he's returned with "Dangerous," featuring the vocals of rising dance star Sam Martin, and beginning a new era in his musical style.
Though Guetta has ventured into harder electro territory in recent years, "Dangerous" is really a return to the sound that he made famous. A catchy, radio-friendly vocal gleefully edges over poppy, uniquely French pop sounding instrumentals, reminding me of the David Guetta we saw on his earlier work and last artist album in 2011, Nothing But the Beat. "Dangerous" merges those times with the current, and comes ahead of the release of his first LP since then, Listen. Due out November 24th via 2014 via Big Beat/Atlantic/Parlophone, it's still so new to the viral scene that many tracks still don't have names. And of course, it's due to get a lot of attention. What do you think?
