It doesn’t take much time to get into Halsey’s latest track “Hurricane”. It could be because she doesn’t wait before launching right into the track, or because the beat is right there to meet her there. Despite very little introduction, the song still builds a catchy and softly menacing tone that’s subtle in its darker vibes. Halsey manages to create a dangerous and upbeat energy to “Hurricane”. It’s slower pace than her earlier more poppy track “Ghost” which was released earlier this year.
With the mature topics often featured in her music and a knack for finding a beat, it will be interesting to see what comes from this not-quite-20 year old. Her EP release Room 93 will be available October 28th, 2014.
