Since day one, we've been chronicling the elusive moves of the artist known only as ZHU. He's been on somewhat of a hiatus since his explosion onto the blogosphere some months ago, but we've recently heard that he's coming back in fine fashion. Rumour has it he's taking his success with "THE NIGHTDAY EP" one step further, by creating a world tour, similarly titled THE NIGHTDAY EXPERIENCE.
Before he does that though, ZHU has dropped a tidy little cover of one of CHVRCHES' summer anthems. His always-trendy, unique style of musical production fits perfectly over CHVRCHES' cutting edge flair. Covers are tricky, as it's not just a remix, or edit. It's not easy to take an Indie anthem and reconfigure it while staying true to one's own, house-music inspired sound. But ZHU got the job done on this one.
The cover is smooth and easy on the ears. It's a versatile track with laidback vibes that can be taken in just about anywhere. It's a deeper take on the indie original, and that bassline is just addicting. Wait for that riffing to kick in and you'll see why this track has gotten so much attention in the past 24 hours.
