Your Own Universe, known as Y.O.U by his friends and fans, has a clean French indie, synth pop-inspired sound that uplifts with vocals that liken him to Coldplay. One of his positively emotive slow jams recently found itself in the hands of fellow Manchester-based band, The 1975. "Heavy Crown" is a happy tune with enough reverb on the kick/snare combo to fill a vacuum. The 1975 took it a step forward with marching cadence, glitchy vocal distortion, and even more cavernous echo. Together, the two indie bands make a fine combo.
Y.O.U is touring with the band for their UK leg throughout September and October. If you're one of the fortunate ones living in a country other than America, be sure to catch both for as many dates as possible.
