Sometimes it takes the perfect remix to bring back that song that's been buried in your iTunes for years. With Jeremih heading in a darker direction thanks to his fantastic collaborations with Shlohmo, some might forget his pre-2012 tracks. That's what WYLN is here for. Here he digs deep into the archives and brings back a fresh perspective on Jeremih's lyrically-lacking "Beak Up to Make Up", and we love the end result.
At first the song choice might come across as questionable, but as soon as you hit play you realize that this is not the track that you remembered. The Montreal based producer combines rattling hi-hats with crunchy percussion and bouncy synths to create a summer vibe that that will have your head bobbing within seconds. If the Shlohmo remixes are one end of the spectrum, consider this the total opposite, made for those early September days as the summer slips away.
The track showcases WYLN knack for taking old school RnB tracks and bringing them to life with a refreshing modern sound. We still don't know much about the young producer but if the quality of his tracks continues at this pace it's a name you'll be hearing for quite a while.
