With London being such a hotbed of talent right now, it seems that the conveyer belt wheeling out some of the UK's hottest young rappers will never stop, well not right now at least. Today I present to you Britain's latest rapper to be stomping his feet into the undergrowth of the UK rap world, Barney Artist.
Hailing from East London, the birthplace of legendary pioneers such as Wiley, Skepta and Dizzee Rascal, it's easy to see how Barney's path into music can be heavily influenced. However, instead of tackling Grime, Barney's style has much more of a rounded hip hop approach, which is perfectly demonstrated on "Beep Beep", for which he's just released the visuals for. With a jazzy sounding piano sample gliding across a more hard hitting beat, the canvas is perfectly set for the young emcee to paint with his words. Featuring a really slick flow and some ingenious wordplay, "Beep Beep" sets the tone for further work from Barney, which can be found on his latest EP Bespoke. The monochrome visuals that accompany this track are simple yet effective, as we take a trip with the East London native through the streets, as he takes in his surroundings as well as mobbing out in front of the camera on occasions.
You can peep the dope visuals for "Beep Beep" below, stream the entire Bespoke project on Barney's Soundcloud, and purchase the EP on iTunes by following the link below!
