Remember the redemption of Chris Brown? Well, it wasn't truly Brown's doing, it was more of the fantastic production work of D.C. native Royal. That was the first of many edits well-received here at EARMILK, including a few collaborative efforts with hip-hop artists. However, today is the day Royal releases his first original- EVER.
I'm more than ecstatic about hearing of Royal's upcoming debut EP (in which you will find "Royal's Theme") but even more jubilant that I'm lucky enough to bring this first release to you. It's rather rare to find someone with pure talent like the 21-year-old producer, and all of his listeners have been privileged with his evidence of potential. His versatile and unique style of course serve him the upper hand amongst other production artists, but the intuitive nature of his music is what really sells it for me.
"Royal's Theme" is a hodgepodge of sounds, mixing and correlating styles familiar with his previous edits. The Washington kid has essentially wrapped up his past few months into an original masterpiece fit for only those who appreciate the wonders of artistic sound sculpting. Royal claims this one represents "music without boundaries" and I completely agree. Why make music that is contained when you can create something that shows who you truly are without holding anything back.
