Chill…
Today's delivery is brought to you by Tomas Barfod. Back in 2012 we chose Tomas Barfod's debut album, Salton Sea, as one of the top releases of the year. And now, even with the extremely high expectations, this multitalented cinematic electronic producer is back with his latest work, Love Me. It may seem a bit too early to call but after listening to the album, it's obvious that it's already in the running for best of the year. Tomas has a unique ability to inject danceability into seemingly sparse, ambient, and classical sound tapestries. And not only danceability but Tomas' work is highly emotive all while maintaining the illusion that his work is highly effortless. But, it's obviously just an a illusion.
The track I'm bringing to you today is called "Honey", which features Danish musician Sleep Party People, whotakes an electro-funk approach to its presentation and comes up with nothing short of pure beauty. The track features the highly infectious lyricality of Sleep Party People's Brian Batz effortlessly layered atop of Tomas' minimal mixture of electro-funk and flashes of disco. And the harmonization between the vocals and production are almost joyfully tear inducing. But, you be the judge. Check out the track and chill…..
