Rome Fortune has consistently moved to the beat of his own drum and drives down a lane that is fully his own. From his collaborators, to his actual sound, he always finds a way to surprise fans and listeners all over. While the monotone flow remains, the words and delivery continue to grow more and more abstract. "Girls To The Floor" follows this trend and may be his strongest effort thus far.

FKi produced the track and couldn't have found a more interesting contemporary sample if he wanted to. Bear Hands' "Giants" is a great song, but one that doesn't seem to lend itself to being reworked in hip hop style; however, that didn't stop this beatsmith. Catching the low point of the bridge, right before the crescendo, the 808's and added synthesizers fit the vocalist's voice like a snug glove. The thirty layers of reverb are implemented well, avoiding the too ethereal feeling that can sometime overwhelm songs like this.
Fortune's steady flow and detached personality compliment the energy of the vocal sample. While Dillon Rau is going up an octave, Rome drops in and slows everything down. "Girls To The Floor" deals with a woman in his life that is possibly taking him for granted and using him. Obviously, this is a no go for the Cowboy Pimp, who immediately dismisses her and calls the pretty ladies to come make him feel better. It is a slightly humorous tale, which he tells in the most serious way.
"Girls To The Floor" will be on Kitty Cash's upcoming mixtape, Love The Free II, due out July 29. Rome is constantly keeping busy, so keep your eye on his soundcloud page, where he is sure to drop some new music for listeners soon.
