Passion Pit remains a favorite of fans far and wide, no matter how many years go by they still hold a special place in music lovers hearts.
While it's been two years since Gossamer, and since then we've basked in the glory of hit songs like "Take a Walk" and "Carried Away," and even seen artists make names for themselves by remixing them (ie. M Machine). Word on the street there's a new project in the works, as Michael Angelakos of the band states on their tumblr:
"Aside from working on the new PP record, I’ve been working with the amazing Ryn Weaver.
So yes, there are things happening. But today, EARMILK has an exclusive premiere of PP's new remix. The boys decided to rework OneRepublic's new hit "Love Runs Out" and it's essentially a reminder that the gears are turning and plans have been made. In an interview with Pitchfork, Michael also stated:
"I'm really obsessed with perfect songwriting craftsmanship. I don't think a lot of people in music today care about that. Maybe Dr. Luke does, because he has a formula– but it's a terrible one, and it's not going to last."
The new project does not have a date slated, but is in the works under Interscope Records. Take a listen to Passion Pit's remix of "Love Runs Out" now, and check out the original on iTunes.
