I have serious respect for those musicians out there grinding on a work, school, and side project game. I'm one in the same (writing, not playing) and it takes a lot out of you, especially when trying to express yourself through a craft. Today C-Hawk and Sam Sullivan defy their busy schedules.
It's been 6 months of this kind of daily routine, but their debut album Only the Beginning is finally here. I first introduced you to producer Sam Sullivan back when he released a hefty remix of Big L's "Put it On." I'm reminded a ton in this tape of just how much potential I saw with that first write up. Oh and don't forget that their goal with O.T.B. was to display their musicality, influenced by a classical and jazz background. Automatic winner in my book.
The boys want to create versatile music not just to please so many diverse populations, but to prove that their talents don't lie solely behind traditional hip-hop. The two progressive 18-year-old New Hampshire natives sound very similar to the sounds of Audio Push, pushing the limit between lyrical hip-hop and R&B. I love it.
