Born and raised in San Francisco, the multi instrumentalist scotch-enthusiast known as ERLE has been playing keys and drums since he can remember, eventually turning his love into a profession after 6 years of schooling. With an arsenal of tunes ready to go, “Downfall” is, ironically enough, just the beginning of his reign over the new-wave of house music. Influenced by Dusky, Gorgon City, Pink Floyd, and the entire Dirtybird crew, ERLE’s sound brings his own style to the increasingly popular Nightbass-style sound currently running LA.
While computers reign supreme in modern studios, ERLE insists that creating tracks as live as possible, and pairing them with an acoustic version, is a crucial step to maintaing to soul of his music. As such, his current track “Downfall”, heard first on Thee Mike B’s 90 minute Perfect Driver podcast, has the innate power to wake up the dance floor and get your body grooving hard.

The tune is tailored to dimly-lit backroom clubs where the music comes first and drama is left at the door. In a perfect world, the drinks are reasonably priced and your entire crew of friends came with you. The dance floor is filled to breaking point and “Downfall” has just been dropped after a massive build, bringing the full power of the club’s woofer to life. The seemingly quiet wallflower starts shuffling, the four-deep phone party falls back down to reality, and we all find ourselves amidst our best efforts at fluid movement.
Take a listen to ERLE’s “Downfall” below and hop on the Perfect Driver bandwagon!
