Grizfolk's "Vagabonds" is remixed by Tyde [Premiere]

In full-fledged downtempo fashion, the West London production duo Tyde transform Grizfolk's "Vagabonds" into a pulsing eclectic venture through the experimental spectrum. Combining pop, folk and electronics into a global sound, the part LA, part Sweden-based group Grizfolk present an extremely accessible, yet equally unique style. Finding acclaim with the release of their single "The Struggle", Grizfolk released the From the Spark EP earlier this year, which houses "Vagabonds", "The Struggle" and two other distinct songs. With a path that is so far promising, we look forward to more original material from Grizfolk.

Taking on a different overall approach stylistically, West London's Tyde offer up wholesome electronic soundscapes in the form of both remixes and original material. Most recognized from their grooving remix of Bastille's "Pompeii", Tyde are a relatively unknown and underrated team, made up of producers Ambius and Lookbak.

Beginning with a hushed and laid back stance, the Tyde remix of "Vagabonds" is on a steady incline, before ever-so-suddenly dropping into a heavy groove. Propelled forward by a pulsating synth that sets the low end, dazzling effects make up the middle ground to which manipulated chant vocals are worked in to complete the rounded out backing. As a whole, the remix turns an already great stand-alone song on its head, recreating it in an effects-filled fashion.

Be sure to take a listen to the Grizfolk's original "Vagabonds", which carries a lighter mood. Also, pick up the From the Spark EP from iTunes here.
