Yours Truly and adidas have a really dope series where they put two artists in a room and ask them to make a song from scratch. It's called…Songs From Scratch. They did it with Danny Brown and AraabMuzik for "Molly Ringwald," Jeremih and Shlohmo for "Bo Peep (Do U Right)," and now they're doing it with accomplished electronica musician Chet Faker and rising rapper GoldLink. As in the previous two cases, the resulting music is fantastic.

The song is called "On You," and it focuses the attention of the artists on a singular female subject. "I can save a hundred million dollars for love / Just tell me where to spend it on you, girl," Chet sings in the hook, and that sentiment is carried throughout GoldLink's sing-songy verse. "They telling you you changed like I aint supposed to grow up / and grow a beard and go nuts / I had to go to Vancouver and find a woman, so what? / Yeah, I don't know, disgustingly attractive, make me proactive / Make me sign and fuck a pornstar so I know I've got practice." He glides over the downtempo Chet Faker production that has a steady pulse. The song breaks down into the instrumental before Chet powers it home. The chemistry is palpable.

Watch the two artists make a song from scratch above, and listen to the final CDQ audio via Chet Faker's Soundcloud below. It's a great sound blend that's sure to mellow out your day. Be on the lookout for more from both talented visionaries in the very near future.
