For over a decade the Dutch trio of Mark Kneppers, Oscar de Jong, and Wim Plugknown, better known as Kraak & Smaak, has been pushing the boundaries of electronic music by exploring new ways to produce and perform. Jalapeno Records has been a long-time home for the guys, allowing them to put out genre-crossing tracks that deliver all the funk and groove one can handle. After last year's Chrome Waves album and a smattering of releases in 2014, Kraak & Smaak returns to the decks for the much-lauded "Mountain Top". You can hear the group's commitment to instrumentality in the work, which builds on deep house sensibilities to create a soulful, vocally-driven work, replete with overarching, slapping drum work. Look for the track later this month, dropping July 28th on the Spinnin Records sub-label, Spinnin Deep.
