Zuri comes as formidable force because she is a capable vocalist and producer, seamlessly blending downtempo, chillstep, and future bass influences in creating her dreamy sound. She presents such an atmospheric soundscape in her latest release, “We Can,” where you’ll get hooked to her wistfully lulling away, “We can only try…” The name Zuri Akoko means “beautiful noise maker,” and if you give her a listen, you’ll see that it could not be more appropriate, as her ambient beats and lustful vocals embody just that.
