Californian based record label 6J Recordings have been putting in a lot of work over the past twelve months. Between releasing a ton of material from artists such as LaShaun Ellis & Art Boy Sin, to travelling down to Austin, Texas, to work on showcases at SXSW festival, the folks at 6J have been quite busy.
This week the label announced the eagerly anticipated arrival of another artist to their formidable roster, Los Angeles native Sin Marlee. The young wordsmith, who joins a label well on the rise, has this week released "Twenty Four", his first 6J track that also coincides with the news of his signing. The boom-bap influenced beat, which features a silky smooth piano sample, was produced by Subconscious and sets as the perfect backdrop for Sin to channel his inspiration and slap his authority down on the track. Right from the moment the beat kicks in you can hear the hunger and ambition in his voice, which instantly captivates and draws you in. Including some clever wordplay and hard hitting lyrics, "Twenty Four" sets the bar high for Sin, and I for one, am hoping he can build on this gem and we get a full project next!
You can stream "Twenty Four" below, and be sure to keep your eyes and ears locked onto EARMILK for all the latest from Sin Marlee and the 6J Recordings crew.
