Yesterday indie fans were foaming at the mouth when indie-electro extraordinaire Alt-J dropped their newest single “Hunger Of The Pine”. The track has a bit of a more electronic driven melody and a Miley Cyrus sample for her track “4×4” which surprisingly works really well, like too well. Atlanta based electronica hybrid Modern Measure took a crack at a remix of “Something Good”, and just like the title it is definitely something good. Their rendition of the original is like a mixture of the jammyness of STS9 and The Disco Biscuits tied together with the electronic vibe of Break Science. The remix is a minimal approach to the original with the melody lightly looping as gentle synths elate the senses and provided an airy feeling of floating. Modern Measure is definitely an act to keep on your radar as they provide a fresh approach to electronic music with live drums/dj combination, you know – like Pretty Lights used to be before he kicked his drummer to the curb.
