Closed Sessions is one of Chicago's premier independent record labels, helping to break a number of emerging emcees that have pushed the city's scene to new heights. Additionally, they have brought together a number of diverse artists together for interesting collaborations, connecting various parts and styles inside the Second City. Their latest has an incredible cast of young talent, who are each seeing a rapid increase in their fan base. Mick Jenkins, Dally Austin, NoName Gypsy, and Saba are all present and accounted for, contributing their own unique approach to songwriting that harmoniously blend together to give us "Realer Than Most".

Taking turns smoothly dismantling OnGaud's jazzy production, each emcee addresses the pressure of mounting popularity and the rat race towards fame. NoName Gypsy steps out of her usual calm demeanor to spit some combative bars, mainly aimed at people asking when her eventual project is going to drop. Saba shined and closed out the track extremely strong. Putting the city on his back, he lays into all those looking to tarnish his name or to capitalize on the scenes rising popularity. His flow has an earnest nature to it, but it isn't over powering, it still takes on the mellow vibe from the beat.

If you liked "Realer Than Most," you should check out the short documentary that Closed Sessions made about the creation of the song. All four emcees make appearances and you get a great look at the dynamic behind the Chicago's scene. Look out for more of these impressive collaborations that show up from time to time on Closed Sessions soundcloud.
