Kidd Upstairs continues to impress with the second single off the sequel to his hit mixtape KVSHMIR, "Bridge Burners". The track, produced by Kidd himself, has a dreamy soundscape that allows Kidd to showcase his silky smooth flow as he raps on his acute sense of confidence. It is this supreme level of confidence that sets Kidd apart from the rest of the crowd as he is able to lay down unforgettable punch lines and hooks that one can't help but rap along too. Upstairs' ability to connect with the listener on both a lyrical and musical level is evident by his most recent single "Went Down," which features up-and-coming producer Hippie Sabotage, has grossed up to 200,000 plays on Soundcloud. Similar to "Bridge Burners," "Went Down" features a laid back yet vibrant production that compliments Upstairs swagger infused rhymes perfectly. The result of this combination is a memorable track which resonates with the feel-good-vibes of the summer.
If these two tracks are of any indication of what KVSHMIR II is going to sound like, then Upstair fans and hip hop fans alike are in for a great mix-tape. If Upstairs keeps delivering strong tracks then 2014 could very well be the year that Kidd Upstairs blows up. Be sure to stream both "Went Down" and "Bridge Burners" and support Kidd Upstairs by following him on Soundcloud.
