Meet Jay Hollenberg and his remix of John Splithoff's "The Love Went Wrong"

By day, he’s grinding billion-dollar deals on Wall Street as a corporate attorney at one of the world’s most prestigious firms. At night, he’s dedicated to pursuing his passion for music by creating uplifting melodies, rocking chord progressions driving basslines, and playing some of NYC's hottest clubs.

Meet Jay Hollenberg, a 27-year old producer from Vancouver, Canada currently living and working in New York City.

“It is challenging and can also be frustrating,” Jay says of trying to balance a full-time professional career while pursuing his dream. “There will be periods for months on end where I’ll work 12-18 hour days at the office, including on weekends, which obviously leaves very little time for music.” However, Jay feels that his legal training has helped his music career as well. “Attention to detail, patience, and producing a perfect work product are all traits that I’ve internalized, and that translate to music production.”

A blend of classic acoustic and modern progressive house sounds coupled with a sing-along vocal, Jay’s remix of "The Love Went Wrong" is unique and familiar at the same time, and for that reason stands out.

Jay also plans on putting a radio version on iTunes soon, so be sure to follow him on Facebook for updates. The original version, along with the rest of his debut EP "The Move", can be streamed on Splithoff's SoundCloud page and purchased on iTunes.
