Based out of Brooklyn, Paperwhite are a brother and sister duo that have changed things up within the indie pop scene by adding a throwback style to their music, creating lush soundscapes that demand attention. Having released two singles to date, Paperwhite have proven that they are on a forward moving train that has no intention of slowing down anytime soon. In pulling influence from various genres, their music lends itself perfectly to remix treatment with accessibility that spans beyond the typical glistening synth pop sound.
Similar in what is taken away from each listen, Iyes are a Brighton, UK based duo that are also drawing attention from their unique blend of instrumentals and keen sense of vocal direction. Pulling much of the mystic found within their original music, Iyes lend their electronic production skills to Paperwhite's most recent single "Magic" to create a truly unique centerfold.
Peeling back the layers and slowing the tempo, the Iyes remix of "Magic" carries a different, yet equally exciting vibe from the Paperwhite's original. While the remix holds many of the same elements as the original, it carves out its own niche by building a wholesome sound around the vocals that highlight what is unique in each run. Using a great deal of effects to support a buoyant feel, Iyes create a truly distinct take on an already great song.
