Drake's "Trophies" get some Mr. Carmack polish in "Les Djinns"

Ladies and gentlemen, prepare your headphones for this one. As if Drake's "Trophies" wasn't already one of the biggest hip hop anthems of the year, Mr. Carmack’s new rendition of the heavy classic just elevated it and ensured Drizzy’s horns continue to dominate the internet. Aaron Carmack is a Hawaii based producer who specialises in crafting progressive hip hop, dance and generally cutting edge music. It all began for Carmack last year with the self-released Bang Vol 3 and then the Life/Death EP; both exquisite projects achieving #1 success on Bandcamp. This time the talented producer has tried his luck at the challenge of making a Drake smash feel even bigger, and has done so by maintaining the already contagious trumpet instrumental and huge bass layer of the original then amplifying it with some tasty synth work of his own.

“Les Djinns” sees Mr. Carmack lower the pitch of Mr. OVO’s vocals before bringing them back up for the hook, then even higher as the pressure rises and culminates with a fat drop. Carmack has already garnered support from the likes of RL Grime, GTA and Plastician. With the arrival “Les Djinns” it’s time for all fans of lavish bass music to recognise fresh talent and delve into his solid back catalogue. Enjoy the track below.
