It is easy to spot a group with an element of mystery, where the intimate details of their lives fade out and we are left with just the music. New LA based indie-pop project DAE, who recently burst onto the Neon Gold Record label scene with their first release “Where We’re Going,” are still as cloaked in anonymity as the meaning of their three-letter name itself, also, I’ll only refer to them here by their artist names Lwam and Reazon. But from the second that Lwam’s vocals come in, crystal clear and exuberant it’s obvious that DAE will be going somewhere in the industry. The track is positively infectious, with subtle rhythmic and bass line stylings and an overall upbeat vibe. DAE’s lyrics only add to this and correlate to the idea that you can be unsure of a destination but still be happy about the possibilities on the horizon. This is what good indie pop is about, a positive overall feel with deeper implications and a hook to remember. And sometimes, when it is not entirely revealed who the artists are or exactly where they aspire to go, it means that these are the people in it simply to create the adventure and not just produce it.
