The organizers behind Digital Dreams Music Festival have really outdone themselves this year. Already boasting an impeccable venue along the shores of Lake Ontario, the diverse lineup started to fall into place a few months ago as Electronic Nation shared exciting announcements day by day. With a new partnership with Bud Light the festival has grown to include a fourth stage dedicated to deep house and techno on one day and trance the other, and along with the brand new main stage and the unbeatable tech house vibes at Echo Beach things are looking good for Canada Day long weekend June 28th & 29th.

Eric Prydz
Is there anyone more dominant in 2014 than Eric Prydz? His trip to Miami involved the premiere of HOLO on Ultra Music Festival Main Stage, a 2-hour Cirez D set to close out the festival, not to mention his B2B set at Pryda vs. mau5trap earlier in the week. With the euphoric original “Liberate” dominating DJ sets from artists all across the dance music spectrum, look for Eric to flawlessly mix a collection of IDs in a way that will make your head spin. This is a must-see.
Justice (DJ Set)
The Justice live show is, simply put, a sight that every dance music fan needs to see. But the DJ set can’t be overlooked, as it adds a freestyle element to the funky Frenchies. The duo plays a massive range in these performances, from their familiar original productions, to the gritty techno of Gesaffelstein or Tiga, to the move-your-feet disco of Jacques Lu Cont to the party hip-hop of Run DMC and even Will Smith. Go in with an open mind and you’ll be pleasantly surprised.
The Chainsmokers
Yes, we all know these guys as the #SELFIE bros. But dig a bit deeper into their discography and there are some moments of quality production, like their catchy remix of Smallpools’ “Dreaming”. This one will depend on the crowd – it could very well be the hit parade of EDM of the moment, but during the middle of the day, there could easily be room for a few creative gestures. Pop your head in early on and see how the day is starting off.

Deep Dish
The news of Dubfire and Sharam reuniting under their Deep Dish moniker sent shockwaves to old-school fans everywhere – the legendary duo have kept their reputation as techno powerhouses throughout their solo careers, and this collaboration is so much more than a simple B2B set. It may be no surprise that they picked Toronto as a stopoff for one of a select number of live shows, as the infamous Global Underground 025: Deep Dish in Toronto is still cherished as a classic house compilation. You owe it to yourself as a fan to check these guys out.
Claude VonStroke
The kingpin of the Dirtybird family continues to see a growing fan base with every show, but that’s not surprising if you’ve ever seen the dude of dance music do his thing. The parties are fun, laid-back, and perfect for shaking your tailfeather. As a label, the San Francisco-based crew has been on fire in 2014: their Dirtybird BBQ compilation carried tracks like Shiba San’s “OKAY”, while Claude has just released the remix pack to his Urban Animal album. Lots of new music and a damn good party at this one.
Jay Lumen
Jay Lumen has always been synonymous with quality tech house, and lots of it. He’s known for a constant stream of productions, mainly based under Amsterdam’s 100% Pure imprint. Lately, Lumen has taken his tracks down a darker path, with balances of techno and deep house nudging their way into the sound. Releases on Kittball, Suara, and Octopus Records are telling of his latest work, so expect some fresh style by the Hungarian-born producer.
Andy C
For any drum & bass fan, Andy C needs no introduction. His love for Toronto has also been well-documented, with frequent visits to The Guvernment as well as a 4-hour set last August to cover for the cancelled WEMF event. One thing you can count on is a loyal crowd who will be hanging onto every movement from “The Executioner”.
Keys N’ Krates
This will be a special one for the Toronto trio. What started as an experimental jam band meets electronic technology has blown up to foster an international reputation of hip-hop meets dance all-out party. Their 2013 three-track release should create a feeding frenzy within the House of Boom: big-room festival trap built around hip-hop samples should have the tent swaying.
Bro Safari
If there’s one artist you can count on at this year’s show to turn sounds on their head, it’s Bro Safari. As a producer that’s known to fly through moombahton, trap, dubstep, and all bass genres in between, you can bet on a heavy hitting set from the Texas native. His free Animal LP last year had a number of quality productions, notably the low-end heavy title track, but it was his recent Ultra Music Festival set that makes this summer all the more enticing.
