Melbourne's Chet Faker swung us around to an 80s pop vibe with his latest single, "1998," fresh off his Downtown Records debut album Built On Glass earlier this month. The track enjoys a deliberate and nostalgic club vibe throughout, but leave it to DJ/producer Vonzie to give it that sexy dance boost it was begging for. Building on a foundation of beautiful melodic textures, Vonzie displays a virtuosic employment of percussion and soothing synths reminiscent of Kygo. The chorus boasts 80s-meets-future disco synths and squeaks that will have you losing yourself in its dreamy atmosphere.
Vonzie's Chet Faker flip is an impressively delightful and airy record that is as good for a relaxing chill-sesh as it is to dance to. The track is being released for a free download, so there's no reason to pass up on this one.
