As a sneaker-loving human being myself, I know the pain and agony of waiting in line for the latest kicks, only to be told that they've sold out by the time you get to the front. It's almost heartbreaking seeing people walk past you with the shoes you want, and it's been well documented that people will actually kill another human being for a pair of sneakers. So with the ever growing sneaker community eagerly anticipating the latest releases, it's only right that someone should create an anthem for them; step forward Amir Driver.
The Norfolk, VA native has just recently released the visuals for his sneaker-laden single "The Campout". This is the first installment in Amir's 8-part mini series which aims to visually depict each track taken from his latest EP The Sneak Tape. In the first part of the series, Amir is shown waking up in his tent as he queues for the latest sneakers. The Virginia emcee is then seen in line, stopping queue cutters whilst worrying about whether or not the shop will have his size in by the time he gets to the front. The sample driven beat, which has those old school boom-bap vibes about it, is set as the perfect backdrop for Amir to showcase his incredibly concise ability for storytelling, making sure that every word he raps is easily digestible.
