I don't know for sure, but the return of certain bands and singers this year, as well as the emergence of new ones, have all made up for the lack of great disco and funk in 2013 and really set up 2014 for some great releases. Dirtytalks is a duo I've talked about before, consisting of Sloane Peterson and Bathhouse, mostly because everything they've released so far has been so ridiculously funky I legitimately wanted to share it around.
This time around, they've gone about and remixed Laidback Luke and Stephen Granville's "Hypnotize" and changed it into a nu-disco anthem. Taking the fast paced original, Dirtytalks transforms the original into a piece that is simultaneously modern and classic, giving it a timeless feel that is perfect for the dancefloor. It's somewhat similar to guys like Amtrac, so as the days get warmer, this track becomes even more perfect.
