We alluded to a possible joint project between long term collaborators Chox-Mak and Bunty Beats a while back, and this week we got it. They’ve dropped a new mixtape called Balance. The new tape plays as an example of the versatility Mak has been striving for with his impressive internet releases so far this year and Bunty’s beats feel fresh, elevating the North Carolina rapper’s 90’s flow to a new level all the way from Scotland in the UK. Despite the distance between them, Balance is a coming together of two hard working artists who share a love of old skool hip hop. We’ve featured a handful of the tracks on EARMILK: “Patience”, the anthem of the tape kicks it off and later we get Mak’s cover of Kanye West’s smash “Bound”. Other highlights come in the shape of “Monster”; a much edgier effort than we’re used to from Mak as he goes into beast mode while Bunty’s production delves into dark horror rap territory. All in all Balance is a mixtape which stays true to its title, collecting the finest rap music of two determined players who bring the best out of each other. You can stream the highlights below.
