D.C. notoriously has a knack for producing some of the nations most renown R&B artist and is a breeding ground for some of the most promising up and comers in the genre. Recently added to that family is Amber Mimz, a siren of sorts that will lure you in with her producer savvy if she hasn't, already, with her innocent falsetto. Last December she released her most recent project, The Life Of Riley, and right in time for Spring she premieres simple, sunny, feel good visuals to accompany the second track on the project.
I found myself entertaining to many characters and this song just came out so naturally and effortlessly… All I wanted was for people to be able to feel good about being themselves and relax. Be confident beings from the inside out instead of the other way around so we can hopefully be more honest in our interactions – Amber Mimz
With The Life Of Riley, the singer/songwriter/producer creates a blissful sonic tone, setting the atmosphere of the album. On occasion, Mimz contrast the mood of the album conceptually by bearing her soul as she tells and teaches wisdom learned along the bumpy journey that is her story. The project marks her return from a two-year hiatus and was mixed in L.A. by Grammy Award Winning producer Jeff Ellis (Channel Orange, Frank Ocean). You can pick it up here.
