At the beginning of February we posted an anonymous cover of a few Outkast songs deftly blended together into a groovy out of this world club track. The finely polished production, enigmatic artwork and a sound you just couldn’t place quickly set the blogosphere guessing to who the mystery artist was, with theories ranging from Duke Dumont, to French Express to a collaboration between Disclosure and Outkast ahead of their joint billing at Coachella.
Soon it was picked up by everyone from Pete Tong to MTV and the rumour mill kept turning until the forensic investigative work of one fan revealed the artist's identity as newcomer ZHU.
Hot on the heels of his first two leaks ZHU just dropped "Faded", the first track to be put out officially under his own authorship. The track is heavy, blending italo disco, garage and ZHU's already signature liquid falsetto and cunningly manipulated vocal production into something completely unique. So without further ado…. ZHU.
