De La Soul reveal their love for J Dilla on "Dilla Plugged In"

Between releasing their entire catalogue for free and celebrating the 25th anniversary of their classic debut album 3 Feet High And Rising De La Soul have earned their spot as a legendary force within hip hop. Whether you jammed to their lighthearted tracks like "Me, Myself, and I" or preferred their mature works from De La Soul Is Dead, it's impossible to deny their ability to go against the grain in a time when the genre shifted to a more gangsta persona. On "Dilla Plugged In," the trio prove that they've still got it with their catchy and laid back rhymes over this beautiful J Dilla beat. The track is the first from the upcoming tape entitled Smell The DA.I.S.Y, which will feature De La rapping over a number of Dilla beats. And if you thought that was dope, the group has announced that their next mixtape, Premiem Soul On The Rocks, will feature the legendary DJ Premier supplying his brand of instrumentals, while their upcoming album, You're Welcome, will drop fairly soon.  Check it out down below and enjoy.
