It appears that today is a day for classic tracks to undergo the remix knife. Earlier OVERWERK did his magic on Linkin Park's beloved anthem, "Faint", a song that fueled many an angry high school teenagers' lives but now recalls fond memories of days long past. What better contrast to this than Collin McLoughlin's perfectly balanced remix of Deathcab For Cutie's fan-favorite, "Transatlanticism". Yet again we see McLoughlin's incredible ability to reach the original's soul, gathering momentum through intense lows before catapulting the song to masterful dubstep heights. It's hard to imagine the New York wunderkind remains unsigned, especially after cutting reworks like this and vocal talents on massive progressive house tracks. But, steady wins the race, and adding this self-sang remix to the pile may be the tipping point for young virtuoso.
