Av.i is a new name on my radar and with every listen the Parisian producer is showcasing his vintage inspired take on Glitch Hop. Using the instrumentation of early 70's soul and R'n'B and intertwining it with some hard hitting drums creates a unique sound and one that I hope the name Av.i becomes well attached to. "L'esbroufe" takes a simple flute hook and carries you through an almost mesmerising journey of extremely polished edits and a relentless structure. The amount of groove carried by the rhythm section alone is an instant focal point and seems to be a running theme with the french producers style; bridging the gap between classic hip hop production and modern glitch hop values.
