Michael Christmas and Alex Wiley are "Step Brothers"

Michael Christmas released his latest leak from Is This Art?,  featuring another promising emcee from Chicago, Alex Wiley. These two together might be the best pairing since Sir Reese thought of combining chocolate and peanut butter. Their collaboration, "Step Brothers," named after the hilarious Will Ferrell movie contains the same off beat humor and over-the-top  goofiness that made the film so endearing; this lighthearted atmosphere is where they both find their niche. Only joking around on a track would lead it feeling stale and shallow, luckily Wiley and Christmas demonstrate that they're lyrical prowess; trading self-deprecating or funny bars back and forth for nearly four minutes.

This track is not meant to be taken seriously in the slightest, which becomes obvious right in the beginning when Christmas' friendship is immediately rejected. Neither of the emcees drop socially conscious (they are intensely socially aware though), life changing lines; however, their talent alone drives the song forward. Their verses are all about having fun, and bulls**ting with friends, something these two obviously did a lot of in the studio. It feels like a never ending game of one-upmanship between Wiley and Christmas, during recess at a grade school.

"Step Brothers" will be on Is This Art?, which is available to download February 19th. So far, all of the leaks from Christmas' tape have been interesting, with a healthy heaping of hilarity. If the entire project sounds like this, listeners will be in for a treat.
