Pleasure Curses rejuvenate Club Girls' "The A.M.H."

In tackling Brooklyn, NY soloist Club Girls’ “The A.M.H.”, Pleasure Curses fuse electro with synthpop, venturing into familiar stylistic territory. In doing so, the dance duo follow up their two EPs with notable force.

Based in Washington, D.C., Pleasure Curses, consisting of Jahn Alexander and Evan Maxwell, blend a wild bass line with soulful vocals, all overtop an indie disco backdrop. The remix, with heavy emphasis on 90’s electronica elements, communicates a sexually charged vibe well suited for a crowded club, encouraging the endless swaying of bodies.

With only two self-released EPs under their belt to date, Pleasure Curses prove to be an act to follow. In the next few months, the duo will also be playing an array of shows at Washington venues, including The Wonderland Ballroom on February 7.
