Lots of emotions in Luke Pickett's EP 'W.D.E.P.'

If there's anything that R.Kelly's somewhat conversational R&B album Black Panties taught me is that good crooners are here to stay. With that in mind, Luke Pickett rides in with a beautiful voice and sound that is slightly different than the tracks that I'm usually inclined to write about.

Luke Pickett's voice and sound will resonate well with any fans of The Weeknd post-House of Balloons. Slow, sensual, trippy, and pained, Pickett holds a depth and emotion to his tracks that strike the heart. His newest EP, W.D.E.P., features three tracks. The first and last track "Wasted Dreams (remixed)" and "I Can Make It Anywhere" are both slow, emotional, and feature stunning production behind stunning vocals. The second track is slightly poppier, with a guitar based rhythm that again, largely depends on the vocals of Pickett.

Definitely not a sound and style that is featured prominently on the pages of EARMILK, but still a stunning EP that deserves recognition nonetheless. We're expecting to hear more greatness from Pickett in the following months for sure.

This EP is available for free download.
