Since the Disclosure brothers helped introduce the world to Sam Smith with their infectious track "Latch," the British singer/songwriter has been a highly sought after collaborator. Lending his voice to Naughty Boy before creating a supergroup effort alongside Nile Rodgers, Disclosure and Jimmy Naples, Smith has effortlessly generated a serious hype around his forthcoming debut album In the Lonely Hour. The LP which is not due out until May 26 in the UK and June 3 in the US, comes courtesy of Capitol Records and will feature multiple collaborations including one from the female-led supergroup Eg White (aka Adele and Florence + The Machine).
Fans received the first taste of In the Lonely Hour with "Lay Me Down" almost a year ago, but the current single "Money On My Mind" is the first official album tease. The subtle Two Inch Punch producer production is a piano and drum kick driven output, allowing Smith's soulful lyrics and falsetto voice to take control.
Like Smith and TIP, fellow up-and-comer Le Youth has revamped "Money On My Mind" incorporating his signature R&B inspired approach. Easily blending his hip-hop style into the uplifting poppy beat, the LA-based producer crafts a remix that melds the Brits' unique pop sound with his COOL Cali vibes.
