So right here, in the almost exact middle of the weekend, we have a new remix of “Professional,” by The Weekend from San Diego based producer duo Kicks n Licks, comprised of Andy Joplin and Jerrod Jordan. The duo linked up several years ago, and has been a dynamic pairing ever since, with their roots in hip-hop production, and their nonstop stream of electrifying results, both in the studio and live performances. Kicks n Licks truly knows the ins and outs of hip-hop, and has already collaborated with some known names in the genre. Their debut EP Way Too Loud released earlier this year wetted the EDM industry’s interest, especially when their smash hit “Monsters” beat out Nero, Datsik, and Knife Party on the Beatport Dubstep Chart. Kicks n Licks are now gearing up for their sophomore release, and a full-length album to follow. If this remix is any indication of what is to come next, the duo is certainly a creative force to be reckoned with in 2014.
