Ed Banger Records, the esteemed French label that calls Busy P its label-head and home to artists like Justice and Mr. Oizo, spent a bulk of 2013 celebrating their 10th anniversary all around the world. From a Hard Summer Stage to shows in Asia, and even special Red Bull Music Academy x Boiler Room crossover, Busy P and co. made sure to make their tenth year count.
With that in mind, it doesn't seem like anyone on their roster is ready to slow down just because they've become veterans in the game. Feadz appropriately has lead the way with a release of "Eastside," off of his upcoming album Instant Alpha, set for a January 20th release date. The French artist, who's ready to hit the 15th year mark of his own career, kicks up the BPM with a spin on the Jersey-club style that brings a darker, sexier edge to the East Coast genre.
His days of turntablism and his roots in hip hop, are evident in "Eastside," as there is something decisively old-school about the track, taking it back to the days of Afrika Bambaataa with its fast paced instrumentals. With a respectful nod to the past, and a look to the future, Feadz has highlighted yet again why Ed Banger's eclectic roster has proven successful for ten years.
