YoDot – "I'm On It" (Feat. Hart Gunther)

Milwaukee hasn't had much to cheer about the past few months, well, when it comes to sports teams anyways. The Brewers missed out on playing postseason baseball as they finished the season fourth in the Central division within the National League, and the Bucks currently have the worst record in the entire NBA standing at 7-27.

So with the hopes of Milwaukee sports fans diminishing slowly as 2013 starts, it's a good job that the hip-hop scene within the Wisconsin city seems to be flourishing. One particular artist that has decided to try and carry the Brew City on his back is young up and coming emcee YoDot. Having released a series of freestyles in 2013 over some of the years hottest beats including Lil Bibby's "Water" and Jay Z's anthem "FuckwitmeyouknowIgotit", as well as dropping his own mixtape entitled Sherman Park Memoirs, YoDot is back with a dark and sinister original track entitled "I'm On It". This bass rich banger showcases the talent that YoDot possess; with an impeccably timed flow, the young and hungry emcee delivers his bars with both ferocity and passion, making for a deadly combination. Hart Gunther provides a catchy hook that keeps the track ticking, as YoDot spits about street life and the darkness that goes hand in hand with it.

"I'm On It" is the perfect statement of intent that YoDot has provided, and if this is a sign of things to come, then it's going to be very exciting following his development. You can stream "I'm On It" above, and if you haven't already listened to his mixtape Sherman Park Memoirs, you can stream and download it from DJBooth.net. I've also added the latest YoDot track, "Never Shines", which was released only an hour or so ago but again provides a strong outlook on where this young emcee is heading.
