Rising emcee Topaz Jones continues to release new heat from his upcoming project The Honeymoon Suite. The record which is due to drop early this year has already given us the Thelonious Martin-featured “Divas At The Disco”, the quirky “Coping Mechanism”, and the head bopping “Black Dynamite”. This time the Montclair rapper brings a spacey track with a catchy hook and nostalgic chorus. The vocals on “Livin’ A Lie” feel as true as it gets while the Episode production anchors the New York rapper’s unique tones amongst some gritty drums and an infectious guitar riff instrumental. It’s got enough lyrical depth and easy listen value to appeal to the entire landscape of hip hop fans.
“I look right up at the sky, nightmares keep me terrified, these dreams and money combined, feels like we’re living a lie.”
