We've seen lots from Sei A this past year, and the consistent goodness he sprinkles on his music makes me glad he's put in enough studio hours to keep the music coming until the very end of the year. Finding a home for his music under prominent labels such as Kompakt, Turbo, Hemlock, and AUS, the London-based producer returns to AUS again after the successful launch of his Wants EP earlier in September. Make It Work has an overall warm tech-house vibe that can really do some damage for those warehouse lurkers that seek a good beat to move with at the crack of dawn.
Track title "Make It Work" says it all. Here, Sei A concocts the perfect floor shaker that'll creep through the tiniest crevice of any wall. Full of wiry kicks and sturdy grooves to follow up the low-pitched vocals, this track hits like an epidemic we'd all want to be a part of. "I'll Take You There" sounds very promising right from the beginning. Luckily, that's not far from truth at all. Continuing the deep-house vibe we left off with "Make It Work", this track embodies a sensuous feel that courteously slows down the pace shiftily.
Also included on the b-side is a remix by Breach that reconstructs "Make It Work" into a ticking time bomb that gradually works to its burst. Flirting with the vocal pitches–making them at times high and at others low– while giving them a more centered role, this funky remix keeps things jumping. Added as a special Digital Bonus is track "Hing", showing us the darker signature to Sei A's production capabilities. As always, Sei A delivers a convincing product that'll stay charted for a good while.
