KALEIDA – "Think" [Video + Download]

London-based electronic duo KALEIDA is an unearthed gem and before this week, a well-kept secret. “Think” stirred a buzz when it was originally debuted back in February of this year, but the video was quickly pulled from the internet so an EP could be put together. It’s hard to believe that nothing was really known about them until now.

Comprised of Christina Wood’s vocals and Cicely Gouder’s keyboards and production, the two hit it off with their shared love for synthesizers and all things Nordic. A mutual friend was genius to reintroduce the pair. They were tinkering around independently in different parts of the world before coming together. Wood was writing and recording laptop demos during her studies in Indonesia as a rainforest consultant, and Gouder was a pianist in London who was becoming more interested by the electronic side of things.

“Think” comes ahead of KALEIDA’s debut EP, set to release in early December. Available via SoundCloud as a free download, “Think” is a beautifully stripped down pop landscape with Christina Wood’s vocals guiding like a siren. She has the same captivating tone and quality that seems exclusive to Nordic icons like Björk or Karin Dreijer Andersson of Fever Ray and The Knife. The video parallels the minimalism and intrigue of the track. Surely you’ll be popping and swaying along.
