What happens when you take one of the greatest hip hop emcee's to ever do it, and get him to add a verse to the hit track from a 16 year old indie pop wondergirl? You get one of the years dopest remixes from two unlikely sources.
The legendary Raekwon, one of the leading members from hip-hop kingpins Wu Tang Clan, has jumped onto one of 2013's biggest hits, "Royals", and has given the song some street credibility. 'Kwon drops two verses on the remix, spitting with the aggression and flow we've come to expect from the New York native. Each verse is sat in between the original cuts from Lorde herself, who has seen her album Pure Heroine gain a lot of praise since it's release at the end of September. Raekwon has given "Royals" a new breath of life, opening it up for the hip-hop heads of this world.
Although I don't think I'm alone in thinking the Raekwon remix we're all waiting for, is his added verse to Drake's "Pound Cake". How long it will be before Drake releases the final cut is anyones guess, but this remix has ramped up the hype levels that little bit more.
