A long long time ago some foolish man exclaimed that disco was dead. Refusing to believe such ludicrous claims two men floated down the river Styx in a jewel encrusted funky floating device. With their acid house and dark disco sounds resonating they beckoned the disco devil himself. Rising victorious from the ashes of the disco inferno was a fabulous phoenix of funk and that phoenix’s name was The Golden Pony. Golden Pony pulls the dated disco sound and adds their own deep house sound to it. Their latest release is a reworking of the hit 80’s synth-pop anthem “Everybody Wants To Rule The World” by Tears For Fears. Deep synths drip the most salacious sound like moist stalactites in the damp caverns of Carlsbad, New Mexico.
