Last Night In Paris – Roses+ [EP + Download]

This past February, UK collective Last Night In Paris released their Roses EP, which is laced with chilled beats, dark, enticing lyrics, and charming vocals, so it should come as no surprise that their next project Roses+  is filled with the same beautiful and sophisticated simplicity that comes with blending hip hop with elements of chillwave. Roses+ can be considered a seamless 5 track extension to their last same titled EP that consistently stays true to the the energy, flow, and vibes that LNIP have made their own. From the first track "Own Me," which is soaked in ambient vocals and melancholy lyrics to the more bassy, trap influenced "Paris Army" anthem, LNIP shows that they have versatility under their belt. When you get to "Cøcaine," you're pretty much forced to take in and appreciate the fantastic production of the whole EP, given that you haven't already. My personal favorite, "彼は家に帰って来る," which translates to "He's Coming Home" follows. The lyrics in this track are simple, personal and relatable, as Taurean Roye delivers a story of love and passion's sad truths. Lastly is the outro "••••" which like "彼は家に帰って来る,"  features the enchanting vocals of Katya Des-Etages. "••••" brings this well-crafted EP to a gentle yet satisfying close as the lullaby vocals reminiscent to those of the lovely Lykke Li charm you one last time.
